To this end, a zirconia crystal was marked with two drops of the transparent ink solution (MARKs) and then the stone was heat treated. After heat treatment, no variation in color or appearance of the stone is observed. However under the action of the laser we can identify the presence of the marker in the crystal of Zirconia. The observed green color refers to the inorganic marker MARK1 present in zirconia. This marking is permanent and no withdrawal is possible. This marker has been successfully tested on different gems.
The same procedure was tested on commercial metal parts (chains, pendants etc) in the accessories area. In all of them the marker was successfully inserted and later detected.
